Good gracious some of the posts! The idea isnt to remain in our caves for 1, 2 or even 3 years...good grief. It's to bust the current wave, manage the illnesses we have, buy a little time for therapuedics to vet out as well as good some form of legit vaccines at least in a pseudo deployment stage. Minimize otherwise unnecessary suffering and death. We WILL be fully back at work with Corona still around and making people sick, but let's at least get a few bullets in the gun before we get back to "life as normal." This isnt a rocket science approach!
We've talked about therapeutics. I mentioned the FDA was going to fast track meds a week ago and got shot in the face by the usual intellectually disingenuous posters on here. Well here we are about 1.5 weeks later with an approval. I will also say that the vaccine is going to be fast tracked as well.
We've already created the depression. That ship has sailed. Let's see if the Govt can get out of the way in the next 2 years so we can recover. If they do, we should be good, if they don't you won't recognize the US as of Jan 2020.
BTW you call yourself vyperdriver, you fly/flew F-16s? If so where and when? You can PM so as not to doxx yourself.

I get the idea the media wants to amp this because they want to sell copy or make Trump look bad. But that does not explain the response of the Chinese, Italian, and most other governments around the world. They do not care about American media or politics. And they went all in on fighting this; crazy like. The Chinese were bolting people into their apartment buildings and dragging others out by force. The Italians shut down the whole country. Most of Europe is doing the same.
There is no way to explain the actions of other governments except that they are seeing outcomes that scare them into the drastic measures they are taking.
I hope the conspiracy guys are right, but until I hear how Americans are somehow immune to the **** storm that seems to be ravaging the rest of the world, I'm going to be open minded to the prognostications of doom and respond accordingly.
It's more than just a bad flu season. The extreme responses are justified, until we get more information.
