Good strategy.

To add onto a previous 23K spill trip question...... with a twist

I have a 3 day trip that I got as a W/S June 1-3. Bid period swap over is June 2. Trip was worth 15:45.

Trip has now gone NOOP w/23K. Time card shows 2:00 of pay for June 1. PBS does NOT show any carry in credit or anything at all for June 2 and 3.

REG in May and should also be REG in June. Spill trips can be changed prior to bid posting, but not sure how that lines up with a NOOP trip vs a trip just being modified.

So here are the questions:

1. If I were to do recovery, would it be for only a 1 day rotation or the original 3?

2. If I do the recovery, will it pay in May or June?

3. If I don’t do recovery and roll the dice, can the company use the entire footprint or just the last leg I would have had on June 1 since nothing shows in PBS after the 1st from my original trip ending on the 3rd....?

It is now a 23k for only day 1, the rest of the trip will show, but its gone. Pay is in May. Just the one day for recovery trip. You basically have that day off.

At least, that is what happened to me...

This does not pertain necessarily to 23k...but it should have.

Awarded 3d rotation from bid process, part of my original sked for May, departing 11th. Notified by company that rotation had changed...only said "Hotel changed". Checked rotation and it now shows only a 2d trip. Time card shows only 10:30 of pay. All but the first two legs of day 1 changed. Originally 3 legs to a 31hr layo. Then three legs back.

This trip should have been NOOP'd but they altered it and kept original rotation number. Schedulers note says "Modified due to CXLD legs..." Additionally my monthly pilot sked in iCrew now shows "RR" under the column "OR".

From what I've read in contract, the trip should be pay protected for 3d's right?

Look at scheduled time in time card. Should show original value. I assume when they close it out, you'll get the greater of actual vs scheduled. I'm in the same boat. In the mean time you're credit has been artificially lowered temporarily letting you white slip above the cap.

It didn't, I called them and they fixed it w/o blinking or saying anything.

The scheduler that I talked to went into “you have a 3 day recovery needed”, I informed her that idea is not a fact, due to only being protected for a 2 hour suit up pay guarantee, no recovery listed in icrew, and I heard back from a PBS inquiry that I have zero restrictions on June 2-3 as 23k/NOOP only applies to the bid month. So I’ll keep that “recovery” as a WS opportunity if anything shows up. So, in answer to my own question, as answered here, and from the company via inquiry- a spill trip on 23k/NOOP only covers the bid month and what you would fly OR suit up pay, whichever is greater. Time restrictions still exist of show time and midnight OR scheduled release (on that day) +4 hours.

Can’t swap days.

Can swap a recovery trip, but you lose original guarantee

Thanks!.....

Thread revival thanks to August.

Question.

Can a line holder be rerouted into a domicile layover for a trio in August? Seems like yes but I remember reading something that said no.
