I'll take it. Small kids at home, and don't want to put granny nanny at risk. I'll trade 20 hours for the peace of mind not getting called into work. That being said, 1/3 of the way into April, and I haven't even gotten close to being called in for a trip or short call.

The problem is other companies including the ULCCs have offered SILs. We are lagging in this area and every month that goes by we lose on potential savings. I fear after May we will have no takers on a June SIL because when they see 150-200 guys on reserve in one category getting paid to do nothing, why take an SIL for 20 less hours?

I'm already in a category that has 60-100 people on reserve every day and I'd still take as many months worth of SILs that they offered. I'd sign on right now to take SIL's through the rest of the year if they offered. 55 hours is plenty enough for me to do what I want and live just fine.

Commuting certainly has taken on an added challenge with the industry-wide schedule reduction (decimation). That should make May fun for the commuters.
