9. a. The Company will be excused from compliance with the provisions of
Section 21 B. 1., 3., and 8. in the event that a circumstance over which the Company
does not have control substantially affects the Company’s operations and was the
cause of such noncompliance. If such event is an event other than a labor dispute
(strike) within the Company, a furloughed pilot will receive furlough pay at regular
semimonthly pay periods in accordance with the following schedule:
Completed longevity on date of furlough ----- Furlough Pay
Less than 2 years ----------------------------------- 1 month
2 years ------------------------------------------------2 months

I don't see how you read that in his/her reply. Look, I'm going to get furloughed as well and I'm a Gen X. I find it hard to believe that you are unaware that there are senior pilots on property--even ones who have never been furloughed--that have still had a tumultuous career. Having your pension (deferred compensation that they were promised) stolen, and I mean stolen, from you was the height of legalized robbery. Then they were told with a straight face, "well here's a 401(k), try and make it up." Now the market tanks and they'll be effed in yet another fantastic way. Emotions are raw and we all say dumb things. But, "boomer" pilots are not going to furlough you or me. Ed Bastian is going to do that and then he's going to screw the senior guys some more for good measure. God help us all. Sorry to rant, next beverage is on me!

And you,re, building solidarity one pilot at a time. Get over the victim hood. We all went through difficult times. Next we're pulling up the ladder.

Well there is unfortunately a few on either end of the seniority list that don’t see eye to eye. All I can say is junior guys need to take their blinders off and see the big picture. You will be senior some day and will be able to fly to 65 or longer if well when the age changes again. Senior guys need to remember how fearful we all were till you were at lease 20% up the list from furlough. This all comes down to sticking it out together to keep the contract attacks to a minimum so all the pilots at Delta have a good career.

SIL's and lower ALV's will drive much faster returns to bigger profits on the other side compared to shortsighted mass furloughs.
