We all have inherent bias. Racism has a long history of bipartisanship. However, southern racists overwhelmingly left the Democratic Party in the wake of 1960s civil rights legislation. Southern racists opposed integrated school, buses, bathrooms, etc. and this Dixie crap is a symbol of that

At KDFW....the four bridges linking the east and west complexes are the A, B, Y and Z bridges.
The furthest south bridge is the Alpha bridge and adjacent to it is the Bravo bridge. These two bridges are just south of Terminal E. North of Terminals A and B, you have the Y and Z bridges. The Y bridge is the furthest north and Z below it making the letters not follow alphabetic order. They designed KDFW to keep the Yankees as far north as possible. |

I responded to another poster claiming an instruction such as "Delta to delta just seems like a safety issue" and implied that it was because of their inherent "specialness" that ATL pilots use that argument to defend a non-standard practice. I never made any claim, express or implied, that ATL-based Delta pilots were the originators of this non-standard and ATL-specific term Dixie. Now, I am often wrong about a great many things, but in this case I never put forth any facts to be wrong about other than that Delta has operated safely for many years at other airports (including other hubs) where Taxiway D is referred to as "delta".
