Factually incorrect. I responded to another poster claiming an instruction such as "Delta to delta just seems like a safety issue" and implied that it was because of their inherent "specialness" that ATL pilots use that argument to defend a non-standard practice. I never made any claim, express or implied, that ATL-based Delta pilots were the originators of this non-standard and ATL-specific term Dixie. Now, I am often wrong about a great many things, but in this case I never put forth any facts to be wrong about other than that Delta has operated safely for many years at other airports (including other hubs) where Taxiway D is referred to as "delta".

Yet somehow, day in and day out since time immemorial, Delta planes have operated safely at airports with taxiways named "delta".:rolleyes: Even at other Delta hubs. If you ask me (and no one did) the problem lies with the ATL pilots and their...specialness. Now, rename it to taxiway whiskey and then I'll be happy!:D

I'd be surprised if DAL hired any EAL scabs. I believe both the union and management at DAL were on the same page with that(no scabs)...maybe now too. I believe most of the EAL scabs went to either UAL or the FAA.

4 were hired at NWA. All by the same panel of interviewers, who were subsequently removed from pilot hiring.

They're still here. One changed his name.

Any chance there is a list of those names?

There are several, but I'm not sure if they've been updated. The name-change was an interesting attempt, but it seems his sour personality raises enough questions to ferret out his legacy.

The Capt. welcomed me onboard and introduced me to the F/E then said, The F/O is a scab, we don't talk to him. The F/O never said a word the whole leg. It was something. I also remember all the UAL pilots carried "clicker" noise makers. When they saw a scab in the crew room or terminal they would start clicking the noise maker. Sometimes there would be a dozen clickers going.

I hope DAL did not hire any EAL scabs. I have heard that they only hire one rEAL pilot (if true a bit of a downer) but I really hope no scabs were hired at DAL. I had the displeasure of working with an eastern scab at my regional and could not wait to get away from the guy. To what you said, it would be hard to be a captain flying with a scab; knowing the FO would stab me in the back the first chance he got.

Put the civil war stuff where it belongs: in museums and text books

Your people already came for the statues, they’ll come for museums and txt books soon enough.

Sadly ... Of the few hired after the strike they were all SCABs. Garanteed yes men.

So what about the crazy names they used for taxiways in ORD pre standardization? I only remember taxi via the car park or something like that.

this is such a leap of logic I don’t know where to start.

Confederacy=treason
confederacy=slavery
Civil war<1865
airplanes>1903<KATL
dixie=confederacy=non standard

Speaking of rewriting of history have you checked the running total of blatant lies coming out of the WH, it’s astounding. The latest is an absurd conspiracy about a 70 year old man who was brutalized by police. I think the fascism you’re looking for lies elsewhere

change it all. It’s dumb. I’m pro one world order in this regard. I don’t care what the verbiage or units of measurements are but it should be the same globally. Feet, meters, point, decimal, knots, m/sec whatever but make it standard
