in your homes.......America’s got your back....This time we promise. Ffs why is empathy and even an attempt to look at things through someone else’s eyes so hard? Especially for the dudes quoting scripture. Do you think your version of god would be ok with this? Crazy times man, crazy times.
Every time I try to be empathetic, I realize there is a lot more to the story than I realized, and it doesn’t help the person’s cause I’m trying to empathize with. It’s tough to empathize with action you deem immoral and illegal. But hey, I guess I’m just a square.

I read the link, I don't agree with it. I left it alone.

What's your point here?

Sometime within the last year I was deadheading on a flight. As we were taxiing out for departure an African American woman was refusing to stow her very large carry on bag in an overhead bin, it was too large to fit under the seat. The discussion between the FA and the woman went on for about two minutes. The African American woman accused the flight attendant of being racist for insisting she stow her bag in the overhead bin.

I witnessed this first hand. The African American woman’s perception was that she was being singled out for her race. Was she right?

It has become the raison du jour, it seems to work, carry on.

Since this is politics thread....President Trump is absolutely on the proper side of this. Biden and his campaign are not (just wait for the Trump campaign to drag up ole Joes racial comments from the 80's and 90's as a congressman and senator) The internal polling on this is disastrous for the DNC right now. That's why they wheeled ole Joe out the other day to babble on about it.

As always we all get one vote (unless you're dead, then you magically are able to vote multiple times, in several states for the democrat). Let's see how this plays out.
we will see what happens to the shooter...it’s all speculation at this point. But just to be clear....are you cool with a leader that gives a pass to teenagers or any civilians walking into violent situations with military assault rifles? Is that a good policy for the country? Wouldn’t it be more responsible to discourage that behavior?

No, but then again all adults know this already. What exactly does this have to do with justifying a sheriff in uniform making the afore mentioned comments? Please explain this clearly so that you can be the first person ever in the history of the world to successfully make the case that 2 wrongs make a right.

The articles I've read said he was armed with a semi automatic civilian grade weapon. It just looked like a military rifle. And no, that behavior doesn't need encouragement, but neither do the rioters and looters.

Kinda like saying this is an original Shelby Cobra...

You never heard of Rep DeBarry until I brought it up here. See, you learned something today.
I learned a couple things, actually. Number two on the list would be that you're entirely untrustworthy, because you made a false claim, and then when called out on it, instead of just saying, "My bad, it happened sooner, my mistake," you said you never said when it happened, and then when presented with direct evidence refuting that second claim, you deflected and said that being a liar isn't important, because I 'learned something.'

Do you honestly (lol) think that being a liar is unimportant? What else are you willing to lie about, and how far are you willing to take it?

Do you honestly think that you're helping your arguments when you present yourself as someone with such low moral character?

You’re the one who made the statement sarcastically “no way this could be perceived as racism” regarding the sheriffs comments.

I shared my story to illustrate a point. Perception is not reality. You watched the news conference and perceived racism, that doesn’t mean it existed and it does not prove he made a racist statement. He was careful to state, all races. You’re just not believing him. Just like the woman on the jet, she perceived racism, doesn’t mean it existed. Follow that parallel??

Yes I am. They have the right in WI. They were not breaking any law.

Are you OK with convicts possessing firearms - breaking the law?

What is this scary military assault rifle you speak? You going to turn and deflect this into a 2A debate now?

rain stopped, I can go work on the boat now. After that, clean my scary assault rifle from the shooting range yesterday.
