Quote: Does everything have to turn into a battle? The company has put out missives/info about available open time countless times in the past. So what's the BFD? Trying to rally the rally the troops to be pizzed at management will prolly work for the illogical/irrational/emotional crowd(which is more than a few apparently). For the rest, it is a big "nothing burger"

As always, some categories are overmanned, some are undermanned.....that is the same story over the past 35 years.
Great googly moogly.

This is getting out of hand, now there's two of them.

Quote: My guess is that they are planning on releasing some hostages tomorrow. This may be waaayyy over optimistic on my part, but hear me out...

We’re out of time for the involuntary proposal. Flt Ops tipped their hand today with that Flt Ops letter. Yes they intend on furloughing, but it appears unlikely they can afford to furlough all 1941. I’m guessing they release 220+ (maybe some more) for a few of reasons...

1) they need LOA 20-03 more than we do (it benefits them more), and releasing some folks early could generate some good will among pilots and possibly sway some No voters to vote Yes.

2) the upcoming AE will tip their hand further and if they’re posting it now rather than waiting until November, it’s probably because they need to move people soonest and they want to start processing awards now

3) some of those that could be saved may go NQ at the end of this month or otherwise still need to be reinstated and need training. If they move quickly and drop the charade, they can have more folks in place and ready by the holidays to soak up flying.

Maybe it’s a pipe dream of mine. To me the timing suggests they’re going to release some folks. And since it’s a WAG I’ll go with 3-400. 😀🤞

Hope I’m right, I’m probably wrong (again, wishful thinking).
I’m going with 369.

We are in some sort of bizarro world. Trip7 has been spot on today. On the other hand, if you block someone will it hide all remnants of their posts to include others replying to their quotes? I can handle a good lively debate but this is absolutely ridiculous. Looking for things to be mad at, GMAFB.

if you block someone, the spot where they posted will say something like “this post has been removed because XYZ is on your block list”

But if someone else replies to the blocked persons post, you would see it in their response.

Quote: Any scheduling gurus have an idea of how impactful a bonanza of GSs over Thanksgiving will have on increasing staffing per the staffing formula?

Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Does GSs being flown require more bodies added to the category or does it require an increase in minimum staffing? Since we normally operate well above the minimum staffing and they want to carry some extra bodies to be able to ramp up quickly if the answer is the latter, which I believe it is, I would say negligible.

Quote: Plus the optics of furloughing the most after the most profitable year in airline aviation history. AA is most likely going to BK and we furlough more than them? That puts a lot of stink on Ed’s legacy and stopping that is worth something to him. If he moves the needle and offers some good will tomorrow, I think our pilots will largely go along with it and help save the rest if our help is needed.
Or, since AA is likely going into bankruptcy( your expectation) maybe Ed doesn't want to emulate them? How long ago was it that pilots were upset that we weren't flying as much as AA, we aren't offering LOA like AA, AA isnt seat blocking(WTF is Delta thinking)?.

Until there is more resolution in the industry due to the effects of Covid, I'll take the management team at 18 M a day cash burn over the 44M a day at AA brought by their management team.
