the bottom 291 are all already UNA, they are done (myself included). they could probably cut the bottom 600 or so and run the 220 at full schedule but if they cut all 1721 of us the would be kicking themselves. No idea what they will do but they made this bed, they get to sleep in it.

I think some will still get furloughed, but I’m thinking not 1721

How many of the 1721 hold a “award” to UNA but have not converted yet?

Well Ed just roasted the MEC on the tonwnhall. Doing a lot to foster goodwill towards the pilot group...

I think UNA has ~1200 pilots, about 300 of whom are senior to the 1721. So I’m guessing around 800 active pilots in that group.

[QUOTE=Trip7;3148600]Worst bluff ever

Can you explain to me in 5 year old terms why A220 positions make this a bluff as opposed to just looking to add 220 positions based on future manning next year?

Genuinely curious. The plan as I see it is to furlough most of the current staff and then bring pilots to replace them. This is wrong?

We have 84 NYC220Bs who are not in the 1721, I definitely think they could train the rest by next summer. I think they will have a tough time with the holidays but I think it will be fixed by summer. Based of what I have seen here and On FB, they will have no problem finding pilots to fly extra to help out

It will take time to replace the current FOs. With 2 sims here in ATL, 1 in MCO, it will likely take a significant about of time, likely requiring the company to park the airplane. March 2021 category list FOs in NYC and SLC are already imbalanced compared to Capts. And this is before adding 35 Capts in NYC. If management furloughs as they claim, it'll reduce FOs a further 30% in each category. While the company is somewhat overstaffed, the 1700+ furloughs is incredibly inflated just like the original displacement bid was.

Spot on. Furloughs will occur, but the number will not be what the company is trying make everyone fear.
