Korean Air to Acquire Asiana
Saw this come across the wire. I'm not sure exactly what it means for Delta but I found it interesting. At the very least, it removes an Asian partner for Star Alliance, leaving just ANA in Northern Asia. I suppose long term it could also mean an increase in Trans-Pacific ASMs for Korean Air and therefore requires an increase in Delta ASMs (assuming our scope language remains unchanged and is honored).

I was also wondering this. Saw a blurb a while back about suspending the Virgin Austraiia code share that implied it would be a temporary procedural thing so didn't think much of it. Then saw that Bain Capital gobbled it up as well as it appears they're a 737 only operation now. unless I missed something. What's the prevailing consensus about N and S Pacific flying in light of these two developments WRT DL?

Big-D put it front and center online, so I'm assuming this is good or at least neutral for Delta.
D-net not in the habit of promoting bad news.

The stock/network and future burnback crowd, or the actual Air Line of tens of thousands of mostly American workers and their families?
