What is really strange is they stated repeatedly this would be a narrow body only bid and that the widebody pipeline is full. What were people expecting?

C'mon Man (in my best Biden) nobody is talking "doom and gloom." I said it would good for the Pilot group overall but everything is relative.

I mostlydisagree with this. I think you are spot on if talking about NB B with good BES seniority going to NB A. But...if you are talking about poor seniority NB B...why not make the jump to NB A get paid 100k more a year . You had poor QOL before and you will have poor QOL as an A....so go for the money....do your seat lock ....then go to WB B. One overlooked pro of this "bid up" strategy is LTD....if something dire happens and you lose your medical....much better do do it at a much higher pay rate. You are literally paying yourself for a better LTD policy....banking ALOT more money in the interim....all while having shiznit for QOL.....which you would have had anyway. JMHO. I foresee some really junior NBA's...2 year on property would not surprise me.

2 years on property is 700 or less from the bottom. I don’t think it goes that low on this bid. I’d love to be wrong.

I think if the Q1 22 bid has as much movement is as rumored it would be possible then.

Yea...you are prolly right....I was using numbers from UAL...who started hiring after the Covid hiatus quicker than we did....guys on property 2.5 years were getting 73 A bids on their big bid a coupla months ago. They will be checked out prior to 3 years on property.(again, that was United)

yeah I thought I saw UA has hired something like 900 pilots post Covid, where we are around 200. Hoping we actually start hiring in the 150-200/month range like flt ops were saying they would.

This is a valid and often over looked reason for chasing $$ over QOL. It should be part of the decision at least.

But it doesn't go off the actual pay rates. It is based on a percentage of W-2 in a rolling time period.

NB-B or WB-B who knows how to work the system and is in an understaffed category could be just about where NB-A is as far as this calculation goes.

Or, chasing $$ over QOL could be a causal factor of LTD.

Just a note for clarification. Your LTD benefit has nothing to do with your current payrate. LTD is 50% of your highest consecutive 12 months of pay from the previous 36 months. See 26.K.2.c.
