Or possibly vice- versa? Maybe that's too deep for you to ponder? The only difference might be the senior half doesn't always claim victimi hood status. I find humor in "jokes" regardless of the target. Unfortunately, it seems the "woke" take offense at any minority jokes( black, Hispanic, female,Trans, religious, etc) lots of gnashing of teeth by peeps like you, but ageism jokes are acceptable? Just pointing out the hypocrisy of people like you. Personally , IDGAF....ithe hypocrisy is actually more humorous than the original humor....that's why I point it out.....then ensues your butt hurt...which is even more effin hilarious😅
BTW...this is humor...since you seem to be a little too serious ALL the time....lighten up Francis

not arguing for or against, but what I saw here but mostly on FB by many who would traditionally be called “deadzoners” definitely went against buck’s comment about non millennials not claiming victim status. Like everything else, some have a legitimate claim (like those who got furloughed in the past) and others like to talk about how tough they have had it.

I’m in my late 30s. By definition a millennial. I remember growing up in the southwestern US and eating avocado toast back then. To this day, I still like it. Kale not so much.
Regardless, my age doesn’t affect my ability to do my job. I got lucky and was hired here at a relatively young age. I’ve flown with 3 digit numbers who have been an absolute pleasure. I’ve flown with my fair share of 55+ pilots, and can count ONE who I absolutely did not like. He retired and he began almost every conversation with “well you young guys…” or “your generation….”
I guess I struggle to understand why age is even relevant in this job? A 350 Captain passes more or less the same checkride that a 350 B does. A 62 year old 717 captain passes the same checkride a 31 year old 717 captain does. We all do the same job. Younger guys just don’t have war stories to tell about their day in the L-1011. Other than that—leave the ageism crap at the door (both ways). Younger guys are not gonna start a charitable trust to fund your retirement. The same way you didn’t start a charitable trust to fund their flight training. Just relaxxxx and enjoy your time.

Hey man, unless you've flown a NDB approach to mins in a combat zone at night in the hurricane snow, there is no way you could ever figure out how to flu the A350.

Did that hit too close to home? You are the guys that started the whole "old capt" schtick with the NB shoes, jeans with no belt, flip phone holders etc. 60 or 70 times is funny, but constant bombardment seems pretty shallow....almost as if you believe it. Maybe experience(old age) has taught me not to be so quick to judge outward appearances. Or, maybe I find it amusing to drive my old battered car and people in their upscale leased European models snub their nose.... if they only knew. Hopefully as we all age, we become more tolerant and less superficial.

It’s easy to let jealousy and self pity get the best of you, but it’s not too hard to find the good in any situation. You just have to try a little.
This obviously isn’t directed at you, I’m just trying to say we aren’t all bitter and angry at all you newer guys that are having a much better time with this industry.
My uncle got hired by Pan Am in the 60’s. I learned early on not to try to compare my career to anyone else’s, lest I get upset and jealous.
