while I think this is true, a late 2016 hire probably would have been displaced on the MOAD unless they were already NYC220B or something similarly jr.

Maybe. However one can easily be an expert on DPMA and not know that one aspect of returning from LTD for sure, as that has nothing to do with DPMA.

Anybody know the reference as to how much lead time the company is required to give a pilot returning from disability when they will go to training? 30 days rings a bell, but not sure. First time down this path.

Thanks

There is no PWA reference for training notice off disability. It’s unaddressed, so you are in a bit of a loophole. Having said that, experiences recently have been close to (but less than) 4 weeks. Good luck.

Congrats man, welcome back. I had about 48 hours.

I would plan on getting a call very soon after Faulkner clears you. Considering how saturated the training dept is, may take longer. Especially if you need a full course. But I wouldn't count on it.

I hear you brother. I can sympathize mightily. Glad you are well again, and back. It’s a darn good feeling to get that call.

Sputnik has a good point. With COVID effects still being felt, there are probably so many non-standard processes going on, there is no way to guess. I can tell you, the non-con VEOP hit the planners hard, and they are still getting on top of the leaning curve. They are also quite slow to respond to “smart sheets” for things like this, so prepare to live in a vacuum for a bit. But the CPO and training department have been outstanding, IMO.

The important thing is, you are back! And, you get full ALV while waiting for a date and in IQ.

I've been back from LTD since late February and still NQAT. Need a full school. I would imagine it's pretty fleet dependent.

Perhaps a dumb question, but does Faulkner have to clear a pilot even if he is not the pilot’s AME?

Yes, but his turnaround is a day, maybe two.
