Because we all benefit from having a well educated society. The very fact you're posting on this website is just one small example of that. Someone has to go out and build our roads/runways, update our infrastructure, cure cancer, etc... I don't have kids either, but I understand the benefit of ensuring our youth are educated.
On a more macro scale, as Gunfighter eluded to, a declining population is a big deal. Social Security is just one example, of which I'll be surprised if I see it in its current form. Another issue is the idea that a declining population is a direct threat to our national security.
Of course that is your choice, As mentioned above, I agree with your point about a well educated society. This is why I think we should all pay a flat amount, then X above that for each child in school. This would benefit you since you'd be sending your kids to a private school, thus would pay a lower amount to a school you're not utilizing. That money then could be applied toward your private school fees.

Not at my forced expense, we don't. Freedom is paramount, stealing money from people in order to provide services to other people is the antithesis of freedom. I like education, but I paid for it myself. No one else should be forced to pay for other people's services. It is immoral and contrary to the ideals of the founding of the nation. We aren't commies.
As do I, but again, it doesn't need to involve stealing money from one group of people to give to another group of people.
This is what happens when the government runs the retirement program. As far as declining population, that is part of their agenda. And when the government inflates the currency via money printing, it makes everything more expensive which causes people to delay having families because they can't afford it.... well at least the smart people:
This is one of the most absurd and laughable things I have ever read on here.

More absurdity: rising obesity rates are also a major threat to our national security.

You paid for your K-12 education? Must have been slinging popcorn at the local theatre after Kindergarten let out.
Well that's certainly an opinion.
