LTD/ inactive pilot ID card
Delta used to issue generic ID cards for LTD after the crew ID expired. They have chosen not to anymore. They will issue a retired ID card when you retire. So I am in limbo now for the next 2+ years without a valid ID.
You may be wondering why it matters? Try using the 75% off at Fedex without one.
Anyone know if the FAA/TSA forced this change or was it a Delta management decision?
thanks,
Sparky

Also, have you tried talking to the CPO?
If they changed the policy, this may not help: I had been on LTD for about a year when my ID was replaced about 2 years ago. It was ready for exchange at the CPO just like normal.
Hope you get well soon.

UPDATE: 2/15/21 I have followed it up the chain and they (DTW CPO) says it's the TSA that controls IDs and will not allow LTD ID.
The person that they talked to said to use my UHC ID card as it has all the required info. I'll try that next time.
cheers,
Sparky

Note FedEx discount is for ACTIVE employees and the badge is required if you look it up on the perks page. Not what you probably want to hear, but perhaps you can still try—worst case they say no and you try another location. Of course it doesn’t make sense that a retiree id badge would be acceptable while someone on inactive status is ineligible.
UPS also offers a discount: 35% off air and 15% off ground. Discount code is also on the perks page, and just “employee” rather than “active employee” is listed as eligible. Online shipments only.

"The holidays are just around the corner, so this is a reminder that under the “FedEx Airline Employee Personal Shipping” program, Delta retirees and active employees are given a 75% reduced rate for shipping personal items."
It doesn't seem to agree with the Fedex shipping page though.
