How much of the SEA 7ER flying is going to be picked up by the 321NEO is the real question. If the ER guys want to stick with those type trips, 320 may go relatively senior as they bail.
per the AE memo, I wouldn’t bet on SEA7ER being much of an option at all going forward

With the way LAX is getting staffed with new hires and future AE posts, I'm wondering when SEA winds down if LAX and some of the other bases will pick up their flying. Until LAX starts its wind-down process

Yeah they essentially said they are closing it because of the SEA320 base opening

Bottom line, if west coast is available outside of SEA, should I take west coast, any jet, and hope for SEA and jet type swap on the next AE? Apologies up front if I’m mixing peas and carrots; trying to understand the lingo and process.
I wouldn't bid anything at this place based on what the company's "plan" is. It wasn't that long ago that the 7ER fleet was going to be nearly extinct in the very near future and the MD-90s were sticking around. Then a few years later and the MD-90s are gone but the 7ER fleet is going to soldier on for another 10 years or more. Then there was the introduction of the 220. Everyone assumed (and CR even more or less confirmed) initial bases would be NYC and ATL to backfill the MD-88 draw down with LAX a long shot but plausible. Then out of left field, they put the things in SLC! And don't forget the whiplash experienced by the 717 fleet over the last two years. Moral of story: the here and now is about all you can count on with regards to fleets and basing. If SEA was what I wanted, I'd bid 737 then 220 and not think twice about it.

Agreed. In the unlikely event you can't hold either in the class bid, then grab the best commutable 320 slot. But I doubt the OP wouldn't be able to hold the other equipment.

The only caveat to that would be the particulars of one's commute. If the only 73/220 they can get is NYC or ATL and they can get SLC/LAX 320 then maybe that's the better choice. Even if it resulted in commuting for a little bit longer, a few extra months of an easier commute may be better than any amount of transcon commuting.
