You might get lucky if AE isn't posted by then. There's no telling when the AE posts. Shouldn't be too terribly difficult you'd imagine but....

Well I’m in the Feb 22nd class and haven’t received an email regarding base/fleet type yet so I would assume that you are correct. I was hoping to get lucky and snag a west coast base before the AE posted but looks like I won’t be so lucky.

I believe in the fall there was a class that started right when an AE award was posted and they had that class bid BES on day one, just like the old days.

Thank you. Anybody have any idea how long it takes for bases/equipment to be awarded after the close of the bid?

Anywhere from 0-210 days from now.

The company holds all the cards with regards to conversion in the AE window.

That is the most correct answer…

However, if past practice is a guide (a dubious assumption in the current Covid recovery environment), simple base changes typically happen early in the window, especially if not leaving an already understaffed category. Years ago, I converted from NYC M88 to ATL in the first month of the window, and never actually flew a single day in NYC. That was then, though, so take with a grain of salt.

If you are talking new hire drops (since that is the thread title), they have been finding out later same day or next day.
