And, some flight office monkey can’t take a guys pay over the hat. There’s a disciplinary process with alpa in place for losing pay. Some suit’s whim doesn’t cut it. Your story is bunk.

You are all hilarious.

Previous NYC RD was fired because PB wanted him to ramp up the good faith inquires for sick calls...he wouldn't do it so he was replaced....new RD (RM) takes office.

Capt in question is notorious for not wearing his hat...not even brining it. He has been warned a few times before. RM had hair across his arse, caught the Captain at sign in, and told him to go home and that his pay would be docked. (I do believe he kept pay or got it re-instated). Flight was delayed and went out 3 hours late when new Capt came in on greeny.

I know I’m ****ing in the wind here, but shouldn’t “good faith” inquires actually have an actual good faith reason for the call? Seems like pressure from above ain’t it…

If that’s true, I hope the NY reps lodged a formal complaint. But good on the (former) RD for refusing a BS order.

Having said that, I personally don’t mind good faith inquiries, cuz I don’t have anything to hide, and it comes off your verification total…

AND that sick call is now verified, which means you wouldn't have to verify, you know, should that sickness keep you out a while lol.

like I said, it didn’t happen the way you first explained it. He didn’t lose pay and was sent home. So he got an extra paid vaca. Sounds like a good deal… Anytime management oversteps they get smacked by the contract and alpa. This is no exception.

The Capt was told, point blank to his face by the RD, that he would be docked pay and was told to grab his bag and go home....the course of events afterwards I was not privy too, so whether the pay came off his schedule and then re-instated, or never came off his time card at all, I will probably never know, but I'll make sure to ask next time I ever get to fly with said Cappy.

Im sure the management weenie thought it would play out that way. But, he obviously isn’t versed in the finer points of contractual progressive discipline. We don’t want a bunch of little Hitlers running around thinking they can get in our wallets over something as trivial as a stupid hat. There are procedures in place to deal with disciplinary issues.

Multiple ACPs and CPs have resigned on his watch. An ACP actually told me he “wouldn’t wish working for current RD on his worst enemy”. There is a reason they need to blast the entire base with multiple requests to apply for these positions.

Our C66 reps have issues with the current RD, as do LLCPs.

In my one interaction with him he seemed fine but I don’t work for him.

Just because you know they are a pilot doesn't mean the general public does - there is nothing that says because you are a pilot with a pilot bag you can't wear a North Face jacket.

I saw 4 obvious no hat with the rest of the uniform just this past weekend. Just saying.
