Quote: Its highly unlikely when the airline is in a growth mode to see a secondary impact. This would be especially true in the A320 category.
Maybe but why would you not want to give everyone a clear picture of what could happen and let them prepare? VS your unicorn and gum drop plan that “its highly unlikely”

weird stuff happens.

Everyone should carry a displacement bid. Getting displaced in the posted scenario is the unicorn.
Is the conversion schedule posted on a monthly basis or is everything projected to August 31st? Or, does it depend if you are base transfer only vs. requiring training?

Crew Resouces will post a projected training list in the coming weeks (supposedly, they have new software that will publish ‘projected training’ at the same time as the AE results, but it’s clearly not in use yet). It has been a manual process heretofore. But that list is just a projection. It can and will change. The monthly conversion list is what will actually be executed for the following month. A.so, if trining is required, some folks will get a preview when iCrew gives them a pop up that training has been scheduled, as there are some contractual implications for the monthly schedule bidding process.

Base transfers historically have trended toward the beginning of the AE conversion window, since no training is required. However, if you are leaving a short-staffed category (like any NB in NYC), you may be ‘held back’ to the end of the window. And like many things in the age of Covid, historical norms may not be a guide.

It’s hard to say.
Single seaters struggle, but catch up fast.
I have a friend on the 4th floor. He said that all new hire training failures and terminations in the last 10 years were regional background.

I only personally know of one wash out and they didn’t come from the regionals. So this is not true.

“I have a friend on the 4th floor that told me…” if you’re going to bull$hit around, at least make it sound believable.
The one person I knew of first hand that was washed out was due to more of his crumby attitude rather than lack of ability.

Most of the single seat issues are the CRM, not doing everything yourself. I hadn’t flew a crew aircraft in 8 years before my training. Zero extra sims needed for my buddy (never flew a crew aircraft) and me.

I can see a prior Mil guy who was single seat doing well in the left seat early on. They tend to know the rules well and operate autonomously. Now they have a crew and DAL team to help them.

Also, it’s not like the just jump to the left seat, they still need 500 hours at Delta before they can captain the ship. A lot can be learned on how to operate within the Delta structure, who to call when and all that jazz.
