Not a full night’s sleep, but pretty decent. Also, their new (to me at least) crew line for outbound security is much, much faster. So when the FAs bring 36 yogurts and 18 bottles of wine each that get scanned individually, it’s not so horrible. Haha

Unless someone reading this is senior to me, in which case double all the times sailingfun listed.
I probably did 50 CDG trips. I never saw a one hour drive to the Marriot. The Hilton was 20 minutes shorter but not used much on trips I did. It takes 20 minutes just to get off the airport. I would say average drive time from boarding bus to the Marriot was 90 minutes. I saw over 3 hours many times when their was a strike and they like to strike in Paris! That is why the pickup times were so early. Even with no need to clear customs outbound we still had flights going late with a 3:15 prior pickup.

Agreed that the body clock definitely gets messed up. At least the work days are far less fatiguing!

Having said that, seems like many east bound flights land around 1-3am body clock time. That’s not too much later than I normally go to bed, plus I got a 2 hour nap. YMMV.

D@mn. That would irritate me to no end. Apparently I’ve been lucky the last few years. One more reason to avoid CDG.

I've done a lot of CDG trips and very few were an hour or more on the bus to the Hyatt Étoile. About 45 min on weekdays and 30 min on weekends was the average.

You are forgetting the 15 minute sightseeing tour of CDG before going through customs.

Some are, some aren't. You'll never know if you don't give it a shot, and besides, with the training backlog, you might not get finished training until your freeze is almost over so if you don't like it you can bid off with minimal exposure.

And I avoided transcon all nighters like the plague on the 76. I NEVER flew them if at all possible.

If I were hired by DL in the last 3 years, I'd take the fast NB A, bank some $$, then bid WB B when seniority allows. From what I gather as an outsider, the only thing you bid for domestically is sign in date/time. You might as well get paid as an A. After trying each for a couple years you can make your career decision. It's a long way from hire to retire, enjoy the scenery along the way.

I totally agree. Especially living local. The A plug on any narrowbody can make beaucoup bucks while they’re in they’re 20s and 30s. That money has a lonnnnng time to appreciate. I got awarded close to ER A plug in this last AE but it makes no difference to me because I bid reserve and weekdays off at 45% on the B side anyways.

So true. Gonna be honest, I’m one of those 12xxx NYC NB A awards…I actually like the bottom 20% of the Wide report on NYC73NA better than I like the bottom HALF of the B category I’m presently in…especially if PS commuting stays. Might as well make an extra two entire average household incomes doing it.
