PB Day Useage
 
I have a few PB days to cash in and want to see if I properly understand the mechanics. I can drop a three day trip with a high time day one with only 1 PB day even though I have more PB days in the bank - is this correct? I can then pick up the same trip and repeat the process? How many times can you do this before you have to start filling out smart sheet requests vice just using PCS? Any advantage of smart sheets over PCS? OBTW where would an interested party find said Smart sheets?

Check out Sched Alerts 21-11 and 22-01....it spells out everything including icrew screen shots, how to use less PB days than the rotation length, and what drop downs to use on the smart sheet.

You can do this as many times as you want until picking that trip back up would put you over the WS pickup limit. At that point if you want to keep using that trip you'd need to find a friend to work with where you'd drop the trip with PB days, they'd WS it, then swap it to you.

As far as the smartsheet, icrew can't handle more than 2 events on a single day, So once you have TOFF on the day, you'll need to start moving that to any other day of the month in order to free up that day to continue to pickup and add more TOFF's. The smartsheet is on deltanet.

Isn’t that a set-up to “hose-over a friend?” I’m no PWA guru, but doesn’t such a trip have to pass through Open Time again? Maybe I’m thinking of a slightly different scenario, but a couple of contracts ago we lost the ability to freely do surrogate transactions from Open Time, passing rotations around.

Just throwing it out there because I need to know and don’t want to see folks get stuck with something they do not want.

The alerts I posted above talk about how it works.....PB+PD a trip, shows up as Qualed trip in OT...friends picks it up, smart sheet for PB Day, then take the trip back via Pilot-to-Pilot Swap...rinse and repeat until you run out of PB days.

PB day question part Deux
 
Suppose I want to drop a trip with a single payback day and then pick that trip back up - do I submit both the leave request (PB day) and WS request on the same PCS run? I assume best to set this up for the AM run on the 20th before coverage drops down.
