Has anybody smart come up with some basic assumptions for Q4 and calculated PS percentage for 2022?

Only rumors, but number floated on here in various posts are calling 5% on the low end, maybe up to 7-8 depending on how well we crush it this last quarter.

Can I quibble and say it's ((Block-2) X 1/2) +2) for a 4 man crew...

No. It’s not 2 it’s 1. All four crew are up front for the first 15 mins and the last 45 mins. For some reason they don’t include taxi time for their calculations.

Default PBS question

What are the occasions, if any, that allow you to bid less than the required Minimum days available when bidding reserve? For example if my minimum days on call is 4 can I go to only 3 days prior to a vacation or at the beginning and end of the month? I know you can tactically put less days next to CQ, but are there any other exceptions?

Thanks

OBTW - as far as block time for 3 and 4 man crews no need to do math - the "consolidation" button on the block hours flown button does it - great tip posted above.

You can't do that with vacation. Pretty much anything that is considered "work," such as CQ, other sim events, ALPA duties, etc... will allow you to go below 4 days. You can only go less than 4 days at the beginning of the month IF you had work on the last day of the previous bid month that would make it a 4 day stretch. At the end of the month you can always put as little as 1 day of reserve because you could always bid reserve (or a trip) at the beginning of the next month that would make a 4 day block.

I highly recommended you get the John Bell reserve line simulator. I use it every single month I bid reserve (nearly every month) just to double check that what I'm asking for is legal. It's saved me plenty.

To clarify, most pre-posted ALPA time is not considered work by PBS so you can't use it to count towards a block of RES days.

Default OE LCA

If CS doesn’t call to release you from a trip with OE, do you just show up and DH for entertainment?
