Q: So if you retired early, do you expect a bump up from the rates when the VEOP was accepted?
Usually, bonuses are $ to incentivize the voters to vote yes. |

This isn't that hard. Everyone should get a retro check from the amendable date until the day they left..

Signing bonus? I'd say no. |
There's somebody in the GO who is doing the math (and probably updating monthly as people retire) what retro at their offered rate costs vs a bonus costs.
Once they figure a bonus will pay sone number greater than 50% of the voting group more than retro while being cheaper than paying retro to all who worked past the amenable date, they will likely push it harder vs full retro.. Lets just say now, the retro since amenable works out to 12% of 1 years pay (3, 3, 4%) Median W2 of 200k, 24k x the 15,000 or so is about $360M Every month the retro goes up. As do the likely to vote for a say 40k signing bonus over retro. Because they ARE tracking how much retro will cost vs a one time bonus x how many are here. At some point it will make more financial sense (from the company's viewpoint) to offer a signing bonus that puts more money in the pockets of those here, but costs them less than paying retro to those here plus all who worked past amenable date. Like it or not, my hunch is that covid has created a wider than normal variance across pilots in both income and actual work performed since the amendable date (even within categories). I’ll be surprised if there is an appetite among the pilots for flat bonus amounts that don’t at least account for earnings over that period. I don’t like the idea one bit, even as someone who probably worked and earned about average. Retro should be W2-based IMHO.

Having said that, Full retro must be our line in the sand, lest the company be incentivized to drag out C26. |

This right here. Not saying I agree with it, but this is how the world works. We can say we are principled all day long about full retro, but if the company is offering a signing bonus that gives pilots more than retro would, it will pass.

Besides, we’ve got to drive home the fact this is C19… |
