Having been through this 2x, my understanding is that this step is simply intended to ensure all the Class I T's are crossed and I's are dotted, nothing more. My first time, once I finally had the Special Issuance from the FAA, it took about a day for Dr. F to send the RTW. The second time required a new AME physical exam, and the day I went to him for that, my RTW was sent to the company (though his staff kinda screwed me out of at least several months of active pay, which is a separate issue).

There has to be more to this story (perhaps something of which you were not aware?), because Dr. F is about as pilot-friendly an AME as you will ever find, but he's not a rubber stamp. (And again, he has had some genuine staff issues who have not helped his cause).
I received disability during the 6 month period. I was however told I would be removed from disability since I had a first class medical. Flight ops intervened with Harvey Watt and I remained on disability for two more months. At that point Harvey Watt retroactively removed me from disability and stopped payments without any notice. Flight ops again intervened and after a month disability was resumed with back pay. Nothing contractually was followed. Mostly this was because many of the people who handled this type of thing took the covid retirement and were not replaced at that point. There is far more to the story. It took a long letter to Human Resources to get the ball moving. I will say that the attorney I dealt with at HR was outstanding and appalled at how delta handled things.
The funny part of the whole issue was I told Delta repeatedly that I was content to remain on disability or return to work. I didn't care either way I just wanted a decision. After all was said and done they returned me to work with only 6 months left to fly the line.

He walked out into the clear blue water, and was pulled from the water by hotel guests. While officials were not present quickly, guests worked on him until they arrived. Every effort was made to save him. Prayers to his family and friends.

Edit: Found the applicable contract section. Looks like I am due a nice chunk of change!
Thanks
Would the 120 day limit to file a grievance not apply in this case? I hope you get your money

So if I was awarded a 63 hour line, and swapped a trip to end up with around 60, will I still get made “whole” to 65 with 2 hours (based off my original line) or because I traded trips out did I hose myself those 2 hours?

Not sure what it looks like but they wait till the end of the bid period in case you end up picking up something else before then.

Just a random question/observation when commuting. Why do Delta gate agents most of the time not clear non revs until the very end of boarding even when the flight is open? It makes finding bag space pretty difficult. Not all gate agents do it this way but I'd say 95% or more do. Is this procedure or just their technique?

I think it’s more techcedure. When flights are wide open it’s hit and miss, but because you can change to S2 to hope for that better seat at 30 minutes they rarely start before that even if the flight is open. Highly station dependent too, and within stations, even agent specific. And since they all seem to want to shut the door at D-15, it does not leave a lot of time and always feels rushed.
I think if they moved the S2 cutoff time to the left it would help with this a lot. But what do I know, I’m line swine.

not how S2s work. S2 isn’t about getting a better seat it’s about getting onboard the aircraft.
