Question for the future - if one decides to go through QT for a new fleet. When you do shadow bidding, if they place your oe on days that you have off, do you only get pay back days if you are reserve? or do both reserve and line holders get payback days in that scenario.
Thanks

PB day are only for reserves. Line holders get the greater of trips dropped that touch the shadow period or the amount of OE flown. Generally if you are going to bid reserve it is better to jam all your LC days into the shadow period. You're getting RES guarantee anyways (or whatever your adjusted guarantee is plus sim training pay) and you can't be given OE on every single day of your shadow period. So you're going to end up with a ton of days off at the end of the bid period once you're signed off to either just be off or try to GS and bank PB days. Unless your shadow period ends at the end of the bid period. Then it might pay better to bid REG for more pay.

Does anyone know the latest on the schedule of retiring the 757s and ERs? It's been quite awhile since I heard anything and nobody I fly with knows anything.

I tried looking at the staffing forecasts they put on the crew scheduling/resources page. At first I was alarmed that NYC 7ER May 2025 was showing ~125 less pilots than 2024, but then I looked at all the other categories and they are also smaller. So I guess I have no idea what I'm looking at.

767-300ERs are slated to be removed from all international flying by 2028 and fully retired around 2030. I believe the 757s will begin trickling out along the same timeline but will probably be around until mid 2030s.

When or from who did you last hear this?
That was last I was told also, but that was like two years ago. Its been awhile and historically plans change often.

Training rumor FWIW:

Down to 30 ER's by year's end.

SEA 330 to close next year.

It was during one of the last townhalls. I was trying to find my exact source before I posted this, so don't take it as gospel but I think it's pretty accurate.

Given how they are moving a bunch of flying ot the 350, it wouldn't be a shocker. it's coming sooner or later regardless.

I’ve been tracking it from the numbers on DN. Since October, we’ve retired 2 757s, and 0 767s. Not sure what the future holds, just showing how’s it been the last 4 months.

Not accurate.
November saw 1 763 retire: https://www.planespotters.net/airfra...r-lines/ed26qr

And I count 6 757 retired since Oct 1.
