I have always wondered why the .gov is running day to day ATC operations rather than just ensuring that those that are are dong so in a standard manner in accordance with DOT guidelines/rules. What it is now is a classic case of the fox guarding the hen house.
Ah, Mary "I'll never put my family on an MD80" Schiavo.

Say what you will, but she was 100% right about the FAA.

Of course it’s not hard, that’s not the point. The point is EICAS is a better product, Boeing used to care about stuff like that.

Common sense for me says the company will use the lowest cost viable option. That's why Boeing is still making airliners. The development cost would put them out of that business is the company theme.

Development cost? It’s already implemented on the 767-400. Boeing is in the hole it is today because bean counters took over and got rid of the engineers.

Not to mention rolling profits into stock buybacks instead of designing new aircraft.

When the fed and their Cantillion Effect "easing" are backstopped by the working poor, middle class, taxpayers and savers responsible for the bailouts when needed, then why not light billions on fire to get a small additional EPS bonus?

I do enjoy corporations like Boeing setting up impossible schedules and pretending they are possible, but when theres a hard deadline they should be able to make according to their own schedule, they get publicly angry. Why? Is that schedule all your employees called bull**** actually bull****?

If the -10 gets certified with the old altering system, what happens in 4-5 years when Boeing wants to make a -11 variant? I understand the thought of letting the -10 get grandfathered in, but I would prefer to see them be forced into building a better product.
