If by America you know you mean an ever changing culture that dates back to 1776? No substantial faction is trying to change us into (insert 3rd world country, du jour). Just like no substantial faction is trying to return us to our Puritan days. Certainly there are extremists on both sides. Nothing has happened in 2 years that is significantly different than the last 10.
And the plurality of Americans are unhappy with the economy, which is a global problem.

There are individuals, governments and NGOs all over the world trying to destroy the US. Some are intentional others are incompetent and misguided. Even within our borders there are millions working toward our collapse. They view destruction of America as saving the globe. I suggest reading “The Righteous Mind” by Jonathan Haidt for a better understanding of moral psychology. He is a political psychologist who worked for the Democrats so you can be sure it isn’t written from a crony capitalist point of view.

You sound like the last CA I flew with that had cashed out a huge chunk of his savings that were previously in stocks to buy gold. Something tells me my 401k will be fine. But it's more fun I agree to run around acting like the end is near. There always needs to be a good crisis.
