Intl tips for Euros
#3
Withdraw from an ATM associated with a bank. You’re best off if you have a checking account that reimburses/waives ATM fees. Furthermore, use your credit card (preferably one that waives foreign transaction fees) whenever you can and save cash for the merchants that don’t taqke cash.

Yes. VISA and MC are widely accepted. AMEX not so much.

I use a different local credit union. If the atm offers you and exchange rate don’t take it. Take your fcu’s rate. The AMS atm wanted to charge a 5% exchange. My bank only charges 1%. Same way with using your debit/credit cards at vendors. You’re usually offered to pay in euro or dollars on the pos. Choose euros.

Just use an actual bank atm and you'll be fine. One thing I will add is that it's better to use an ATM that is located indoors rather than one on the street somewhere. An ATM indoors is less likely to have been tampered.

Get a Revolut account. Zero fees, you can do everything from your phone, including transferring USD to EUR (you can fund your account using apple pay) and withdrawing money from ATMs worldwide at 0 commissions. You'll also get a physical card if you need one.

I just checked my account, you can get a standard card for 0 fees.
Im showing you can withdraw up to $1200 a month at any ATM (or 200 euros) and exchange up $1000 a month with no fees.
Still sounds like a good deal to me.
