You went after the poster you quoted for something a jump seater said but were just wondering what they complained about? Ok, then I take back the sour grapes. How do you feel about aggressively defensive? Someone somewhere ****ed in your 757 cheerios and now you’re lashing out against anyone who has posted about 320NEO growth. Fire outside the fort, or save it for someone who’s being an a-hole.
Look in the mirror bud. The only one exploding here is you. I’m sorry I brought up the blatantly obvious that is - why argue about networking of a domestic airplane? It will change monthly. Yearly. It will be good. It will be bad. Who cares? You won’t know what it does in 3 weeks or 15 weeks. Some routes will always stick, some won’t. It’s part of the airline.
I don’t know how I am the 757 defensive protector when I could care less what the 757 does. It’s ironic reading you put this **** down as the rhetoric of the forum was already defensive about neo vs 757. Next time I’ll just let y’all argue about what you’re going to be doing. Somehow me saying who cares it’s a fluid situation is ****ing on the airbus guys, LOL
Its an airplane…really though…

What did the JS’er say? I am still curious what they said? Because my response was “what good 757 flying? We lost all of the good 757 flying over a year ago.”

Ordered. Key piece of the puzzle here. How many 75's actively flying in delta livery right now? Don't get me wrong, it's great, new airplanes, SJS. What saddens me is we still have not heard ANYTHING about the infamous wide body order. That's where I'm at. Show me the wide bodies! Crickets. As you all squabble over termite dust.

BTW we have about as many 757s as we have 321 NEOs on order. I’m excluding the charter birds because they are owned by the NBA and don’t fly normal DL service.
100 752s
16 753s
113 321 NEOs on order

This whole thread is just mind numbing. The NEO is primarily doing long legs. Yes, it'll do shorter routes like SLC-LAS etc. It's for fleet utilization. I'm really suprised how hard this is for some to figure out. We got 42 of them now. The 50th-68th will be D1 lie flats. Those will displace the 757-S fleet (D1) which gets reconfigured into 757-D (normal) config. That's going to happen, it's not some rumor. Continual shift to longer stage lengths will be a given.
And yes, the 7ER category will endurr to the 2030s. But it won't be 45 763s and 100 752s. Come-on. You really think we take 250+ neo/max and notta 1 757 retirement? Or +32 new WBs over 3 years and not park a single 30+ year old 767 over the course of 6 years? We got a handful not going in for 76K (premium select mods; new lavs, etc). They're going in 1-3 years.

That's true, but the Max has a significantly better engine on it. I expect if/when the Max 10 actually arrives, another large order will be placed to replace the 757s, and 717. The cycle limit on the GTF is abysmal, look at all the planes Spirit has parked in DTW with timed out GTF engines. By 2035, our fleet will probably be A220, A321 C/N, 737 900/Max10/Max8or7, A339, A350 9/10, possibly 787. The question is whether we get ERJ 190s to replace regional flying, or abandon that segment all together.

yes ordered and actively taking delivery of. We got our first NEO in spring of last year and as of now have 42 flying around. What indication do you have we are planning on stopping anytime soon, because I can’t see any right now.

I've flown both Airbi and Boeing. They are both just planes. I really had no preference for either as I was chasing pay most of my career (although I have and always will hate the FMS). When asked though, I will say hands down, no question, the 757 is a beast of an airplane and is the most capable part 25 certified aircraft I have EVER flown. I'm hoping we hear soon about the new WB. Too late for me, but hopefully you guys get an early Christmas (and remember - they are just ordered )
