This is great news and it cuts down quite a bit on flights to/from Europe and North America.
Great success!
Awesome, definitely makes life a lot easier flying in that region now

Have you even looked at our no fly, no operations areas?

I'll say it again - yes, I did look at FD Pro and this avoids them to Mumbai. Somehow United and American make it to Delhi most days.

To follow the route to BOM with the route I showed, it's fine - the no operations area are "Only below 10,000 ft. It doesn't cross the Sinai peninsula, the Red Sea, or Somalia anyway. Yemen is fine to cross too."

We would lose our shirts flying to India from NRT. Its gone. Give it up!!!

I stand corrected

The longer we go without a trash panda order, the likelihood of a Boeing order grows.

Aaaah…not really. We have 22 more 350s coming the next few years…and about 20 more 339s coming too….due to foreign competition Asia yields currently in the toilet and might remain so indefinitely….mgmt “satisfied” with 350 reliability and DGAS about buying people off on payload optimized flights. Simple as that.

Yeah the "slightly better for the mission" theory is debunked by the closure of the 757 line and the existance of the 737-900 and bigger.

We care deeply about time to climb and ferry flight rocket ships. Airline managements do not.

Until you start leaving pi$$ed off people behind due to “payload optimization” when you try to go to locations with planes that don’t fit it. Their precious NPS score taking a hit is when they care.

Actually we do pi$$ people off a lot. The old airline saying was “people are being born faster than we can pi$$ them off.” However, when a flight is payload optimized they buy people off voluntarily almost always. Rarely are there involuntary boardings. Those volunteers are quite happy because they’ve gotten a nice travel voucher from Delta. I don’t think NPS takes much of a hit.

Flight cancellations is what really hurts us, lots of room for improvement but are still better than most everybody else.
