B6 is making money most likely on that route, but not much. They could be making a lot more with that jet utilizing it smartly. But they’re doing it because Robin Hayes is a Brit and always said B6 will fly “true” internationally across the pond. It’s bragging rights for him. It’s actually a doomass route with that jet. Let them eat cake. We and anyone flying wide bodies on same route are dusting them…. The cargo will more than pay for costs without a single pax booked. It’s posing by B6. Who cares.

I can’t remember when we stopped flying there, but I made it there once on the ER. At one point, we had daily flights from JFK and ATL back in 2010-2012.

That's American from JFK.
And here is United from Newark. Air India also flies the route too.
United and American are profit making enterprises too, I would only imagine they are flying the route because it's profitable for them. All that no operation area over Afghanistan and Pakistan are only below FL260. Southern Saudi Arabia is only below 10,000.
