How about Avoid trips that depart on 01NOV<0100. Should cover all late 10/31 sign ins. If PBS will not allow you to select 01 November then try Avoid duty on 31 Oct >2300.

I know it’s a long shot but I’m at 80% on the A side in NYC on the bus. Any strategies to get the 24th off. Just want Thanksgiving day off. Don’t care if I have to work early in the 25th. Do I just bid reserve and hope I don’t get stacked?

Never worked a Christmas using this strategy and I've been the plug in categories for years upon years.*

1) Do not use Clear Schedule and Start Next (CSSN) Bid Group unless you know exactly how it works AND you are using it for a specific reason. CSSN is the #1 misused tool in PBS. There are certainly times to use it, but it typically causes more problems than it solves.
2) Always have an unconditional [no CSSN or Else Start Next (ESN) Bid Group] line and reserve bid group in your bid. Too many times, pilots build a bid in which every bid group has a CSSN or ESN and ALL of them fail, driving them into the system-generated Award Pairings bid group.
3) Read the PBS Reference Handbook.
4) The DALMEC PBS Committee has a volunteer on duty every single month from the 5th through the 11th. If you want them to review your bid, please submit a PBS Bid Inquiry via the link on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page of DeltaNet. It's much better to have it reviewed before its run.

Get a trip (yellow slip or assigned) that spills over to next month. Then when you bid next month it will be much easier to get a line as you already have carry in credit and don’t need as many trips to build your line. Then once you have a line bid for carry over trips on your line. Rinse and repeat.

Push your off days to the end of the month and then Yellow Slip everything until you fill up.

Agreed. I messed that up. But once you get a line - bid carry over trips to allow your next month bid to be more likely to get a line again. And tennisguru beat you to the punch above. See post 5.

I think CB was suggesting to bid x days as close to the start of Turkey day as possible and then hope to get a GS that will put PB days over the Turkey day holiday.
I've used both strategies in the past, just depends on the schedule you get from PBS and the availability of open time/GS's at the right times.

if you are above the posted RLL, then you “should” be able to get a REG line. If you don’t, your name will show up on the unblockable/unbuildable list. You can then tell Scheds you would prefer a blank REG line instead of your awarded RES line. With your blank REG line, you then build your own schedule via WS, GS, and Pilot swaps.
