Why would he? He’s either be stingy and come in low, or go more and know he’d have to pay, but also drive his competitor’s costs up.

Based on his statements about industry leading, I’d bet he pays them, and therefore, us…

Anyone who thinks that there are ever any surprises over at Camp CEO is blissfully naïve. Kirby knew exactly what our rates would be before we did just like Bastian already knows whether or not he will have to pay up that 1%.

It’s not really even a negotiation. They have their pot of money and they just leave it up to the union how to divvy it up. The only unknown that they have to deal with is how much of that pot they can hold back so they can walk away with a big fat bonus because they made the shareholders happy by screwing over the pilots.

Wait, are you saying airline CEO’s collaborate to keep labor costs low?

That’s umpossible!

Next you’ll say that the RLA was total regulatory capture by the transportation businesses lobbies to suppress labor.

Crazy.

Correct. 75/76 were group 3 and now there is no group 3 aircraft at all. Just group 2 and 4.

I agree. The only caveat would be if Kirby does 1% to poke Ed in the eye.

Egos abound in the air line industry.
