Everyone who would benefit from age 67 just got a decent PS check, and a huge “retro” check. There will be an even bigger PS check next February. I would expect a significant increase in disability claims next year after profit sharing.

Way off topic.
Not taught without fd. GOM requires use of fd except last phase of a visual landing.

Nobody is taught to land an approach using the standby instrument. Should be taught.

Another genius speaks, blessed to hear from you. Go thru the LTD list and get back to us on the surprising demographic who’s out. If you think 12k is “decent” and 75k is huge, then you need to adjust your thinking.

I guess an extra 43,500 a year doesn’t matter to you?

True.

When in your 20's you think you're invincible.

30's, you think you'll live forever.

40's, you notice some peers have had very unfortunate demises.

50's, your health becomes much more in focus.

60's, you thank god everyday for another year of health and ability to enjoy life/work.

70's, you manage health and enjoy life to the fullest.

80's, you consider running for Senator or president of the US.

In my 30's I had no idea of the details of LTD etc, but after a few friends in their 40's had to go through sometimes temporary STD and some others went to LTD, you begin to see the benefits of the system and how life plan altering that transition can be without any LTD in place.

I never had one day of disability. The use of LTD is greatly exaggerated. The mindset of the average pilot is to have a healthy balance of work and play.

Me neither, although I'm not yet retired. Way overblown!

We did it in 737 training at least in the upgrade syllabus not sure about initial qualification.

It’s certainly doesn’t hit my “huge” range.
