100% single. The double is old and tired, imo.
As for the rest of the conversation. A lot of you seem to imply there's only one way. If they make jeans acceptable you CAN still wear slacks. Heck, you can wear your uniform and hat to the sim if you are that into it.
Same for the hat. Make it optional. Those who want to cover up may do so and everyone else can skip the hat as desired like quite a few already do today.
Same with facial hair. Police the grooming but allow nicely groomed beards. Doesn't mean you need to have scruff but a nicely trimmed beard can look good.

How about something that is actually functional, because the idea that we need to looking like a stuffy businessmen, headed to a corporate meeting is beyond outdated. A professional looking, all weather jacket that has room for a zip in liner, would be much more welcome. Something that fits good, is lightweight, repels rain, blocks wind and can easily fold away into your bag if needed.
