He’s smart. You probably have a higher chance of getting run over by those electric carts in the terminal than you do a baggage tug.

Thread Drift Alert!

One of my new favorite things to do is to watch the electric carts with the new blue light that shines down on the floor approach unsuspecting people completely engrossed in their phones and oblivious to their surroundings. I’ve seen some trips, a scream, and one girl startled enough to drop her phone.

I can say I have seen a few times the north face with the hat. A bridge too far, my opinion.

I saw one where the light shines behind the cart. Great idea

Absolutely. I'd like to attribute it to ignorance in a NH which can be easily corrected, but I flew with a SLI last winter who wore a big Columbia jacket and wore the hat. Totally unsat.

The uniform refresh is a golden opportunity for the company to finally give us a FUNCTIONAL winter jacket option (looking at SWA, for example), but they will not take it, and will continue to force a round peg in a square hole.

In the meantime, they leave the masses with no choice but to wear a smattering of (hopefully black) jackets on walk-arounds and in Transportation vans.

I really could care less. I just use it as an example of how ridiculous it would be to make an issue of what a pilot wears while performing a walk around.
BTW I’ve flown with her a couple times. Very pleasant person and a great FA.

We’re allowed to wear a wool overcoat, correct (doesn’t have to be a trench coat)?

One of the comms a few months back BS (flight ops) said they were planning a more functional coat. I haven’t seen or heard anything since then.

They said the functional jacket would be a part of round 2 of the uniform update, so probably late 2024 at the earliest.
