I think the further you get from Bug Tussle, the less prevalent this attitude seems to be. Out west the trench is pretty creepy. I think one of two things when someone is sporting the trench. They are going to whip that thing open and be naked or start mowing people down with an AR.

The Northface actually works and isn’t creepy.

Where is the best place to get pants that match the blazer? Will the new blazer be the same version of black? Need to replace my pleated standard issue pants to something from this century.

The new blazer is reportedly not black. Fittings are happening next month, so we should know more soon enough. Check the FOM, pants are one of the few items that are mandated to be purchased from the “approved vender.” This will be easier to spot of the color is indeed different with the new supplier.

LCA is way out of line. The uniform is worn in full in the "public eye". So on the walk around wear what you want then put the safety vest over the top. Your FO did nothing wrong.
How many pilots wear their hat doing the walk around??????? NONE. Public Eye. Ramp is not Public Eye, Don't care that passenger can look out window and see you. Don't mater.

They probably got all in their feelings because it was a North Face jacket. Wearing a black “The North Face” on the walk around has basically become a meme at Delta. I have no idea why our pilot group specifically loves that jacket so much. Monkey see, monkey do?

I think it’s more of a function of natural evolution. The Northface doesn’t really stick out from a visual perspective. I think similar to the animal kingdom, that’s it’s first strength.

Further more, it doesn’t carry itself in a douche like manner while actually working to wick water, provide warmth and shield against wind.

The trench needs to go the way of the dinosaur. Why people fight this natural selection, I really don’t understand.

constant delusion that personal appearance has anything to do with being a capable or professional pilot.

Seems like a Delta thing…can’t wear jeans at the school house because it doesn’t look professional. Business casual doesn’t make a better pilot, no matter how much some people think it does…all the while they make us stay at that @“&$ box Sonesta. It’s comical in a sad way.

Gotcha, thanks for the head's up. I'll just hang on till the fittings come around.
