That post is referring to the FAA minimums which are the same across all 121 airlines. There are no additional Delta minimus. If you can hold it, you can bid captain here on day 1.

Can’t you bid it day 1 regardless? You just won’t go to training until you have FAA min hours (and no pay protection while building the hours)

Correct. No restrictions at Delta for bidding. Just FAA mins to actually train.

There are no captain vacancies going to new hires right? I know United has a bunch and they go to training after having 500hrs w the company.

Most junior captain is a couple years in at delta right?

You can bid it day 1, whether you can hold it is entireley based on others not bidding it. You can be awarded it on the first AE but may need to build time if you don't meet FARs.

Correct. A new hire starting today probably won't hold captain for 5-6 years or more in my uneducated line pilot opinion.

I’d nod in agreement at the watering hole.
