They must be using unlimited "batch size" for IA calls too.
I got a 4am call this morning for an IA, for a 5am sign in!
That means they called all 220 guys in the category at 4am to get to me!
Who allowed this nonsense?
I hung up and tried to get back to sleep, followed by 45 minutes of tossing and turning. Idiots!

[QUOTE=Red Swingline;3746050]#1 pilot on a 17,000 pilot seniority list gives the company the means to wake him at 4am, does nothing to prevent it, then calls them idiots. What a world. I’m far, far from #1 and have never been woken involuntarily by scheduling during my 20+ year multi-airline career. Of course, I also don’t know what a dsl line is, so perhaps that’s a factor.
Where I live is the limits my internet options, thus still using DSL, but just got a Verizon modem, supposedly it's faster and more reliable, jury's still out on that.
My first point was, Batch Size. It used to be 10 pilots at a time, now I guess it's unlimited, so everyone gets a call at 4am! Brilliant ! And that was for a 5am sign in! Who can make that, even if you live in PTC? I checked later to see who took it, a junior LCA and they didn't push until after 7am.
My second point is; they didn't limit the call to MY phone, they also called my wife's phone! WTF? There has to be a way to prevent that while still keeping her number available as an -emergency only- contact, but that would require Delta IT to actually enter the 21st century.

Batch size was never in effect for that. It’s a blast call with milliseconds between all eligible pilots.

DSL is horrible. I'm in a rural area and use a microwave ISP (they do need line of sight though). If the 5G doesn't work, look into microwave type providers in your area. The second best thing to that is Starlink...my neighbors seem to really like it, however the latency isn't nearly as good as microwave internet, but still much better internet than DSL.
Also, Timbo, look into cellular routers by a company called Peplink. They can be pricy, but they are solid. They can accept muliple sim cards, so you can have more than one plan, and mesh them together, or put them in priority, or... And their reception is vastly better than your phone, so don't count Peplink out if you are looking for a solution.

Interesting, my experience is watching C/S in the hallway pay phone with a company roll of dimes.
