Let be honest here...and I was an F9 guy. F9 has no intention of actually being in the airline business. All Indigo wanted to do was polish a turd a flip it. I saw that after 3 months there. You don't? If you don't see what indigo is looking to do, then find a hole and insert head until reality shows up doing its dirty little business behind you.

This business is all about how long you can hold on to whatever good you have until its gone. The good ALWAYS goes away. You just need to find a team that has a goal similar to yours. Making money, lots of if, with you as the labor, for as long as the business model make sense. Ask that of F9 vs DAL. Ask what the best way for a SERVICE company that makes money on providing a service to people for that company to continue to provide the services for as long as possible. And not go out of its way to alienate the people it's trying to serve. What the longevity chances of each company (honestly now). Then figure out what you want out of those answering those questions. Good luck...as we all need it.

The upper end at DL is big, but as others have suggested, being hired today tracks differently than 5 or 10 years ago. I have it on good authority that 30-40 motivated WB captains in a particular hase are in the 7 figure club for 2023, and that this bar is reaced in similar proportion across the various domciles. It's not a unicorn, like when the 350s showed up and the training backlog created a handful of million dollar men. I know one personally and we have shared many life adventures together, from elementary school to flight school, so you could say I know. He's got 8 yrs seniority on me, and that's worth 2x on the W-2. Another example that timing is everything. But the money is there for those who have the means and motivation. In the current state of the airline, it's routine to grasp the pot at the end of the rainbow. So there's that to inspire you. Sounds like you are in a fine circumstance at F9. But if you have any long-term aspiration to experience the considerably different vibe of WB international ops., we have some of that going on. It's like a different airline. You'd probably be gone 9-10 nights if you fly a basic WB sked., but judicious play in the reserve field can diminish that and possibly pay better. Tough decision, but whichever path you choose is a great professional endevour.

Well thank you all for your varying perspectives and great insight! I have a lot of thinking to do but dusting off the resume is a great start in the morning. Happy New Year all!

A few more things, what is your age? 20s, 30s, 40s? That makes a big difference. And have you considered AA or UA? AA in particular still has a lot more retirements coming up and while they've hired a lot, they haven't hired as many as DAL.

I'll retiterate what's already been said. You don't have a decision to make until you have a CJO from Delta in hand. My advice, get yourself in a position to actually make that decsion as quickly as possible Good luck!

Junior captain is I believe 87 percent so 5 years to get to that if it stays the same. This will be bottom reserve in New York covering 3 airports. Delta is a much better company to work for overall, but I would stay at Frontier given your scenario.
This is the most accurate post here.

You should stay put. Hiring is starting to slow and just like the other legacies, Delta will hire right up to the point of furlough. Delta has probably hired more pilots in the last 3 years than will be hired over the next 10-12 years.
