You’re over simplifying it. Rational opposing voices were being canceled simply because the mods on twitter didn't want any message other than the ones they endorsed getting out, and it wasn’t just twitter. That should be troubling no matter which viewpoint you have.

The problem was anything that wasn’t backing the state was considered “misinformation” and being cancelled in various discrete actions by Twitter employees. “Twitter Files” exposed the internal workings on how the social media application was being utilized as a liberal propaganda weapon.

Just went over to X looking for Tesla news (going to get me a M3 performance, the new one, yet to be announced). 95% of the feed was videos taken of horrible crimes in really bad neighborhoods followed by thousands of really racist posts trying to make sense of the senseless videos. In days past nobody would have seen these kinds of things (except criminals and combat veterans). Empathy, justice and a search for understanding are characteristics that are hard-wired into humans. Fewer people understand addiction. Outrage can trigger a dopamine hit. I hope we are getting smarter; realizing that yes, terrible stuff happens, but our world and the vast majority of the world is pretty damn great. Further, we do have the power to make it better and do something good, because we are good.

Truly, one of the things I like about our business is the way it brings all kinds of people together. Interacting with all kinds of people is fun and interesting. Isn't that what travel is all about?

The letter was probably necessary because you had confusion from our employees on how to not unintentionally offend someone. Following AP standard is just an official defense from when someone inevitably gets offended by referring to them as “Black” instead of “black”. Interesting enough as a “Black” man myself I’d find it more alarming if someone referred to me using the capital B instead of a lower case b. It reads as if you’re empathizing the fact I’m a specific skin color. The fact Delta needs to create a fall back for any of this is absolutely pathetic.

And it still amazes me after all these years how there's so much focus at the beginning of a Presidential election year on what a few very senior men and women in Iowa think.
