Bud Light's typical customer is a very different demographic than Delta's. We fly relatively wealthy people from one major city to another. High-income earners in urban locations (yes, even in the south) are generally more accepting of left-leaning political beliefs. And they are far less likely to follow right-wing fear-mongering twitter feeds or watch Fox News, so odds are most won't see that tweet. And if they do, they might be like me and not care enough to find out if it's even accurate or made up.

I actually found the document on Deltanet. This is a complete misrepresentaion of the guidance.

CEO claiming, listen to this, 40% of drinkers who boycotted Bud Light might be coming back is a recovery? That’s a hilariously sad claim to brag about to investors. But yeah sure the stock down almost 40% in 5 years has recovered and everyone has forgotten lmao.

Except Bud Lights key demo was the exact crowd they insulted by doubling down on the "frat" comment. The brand has been in free fall for half a decade anyway. For the record, this fiasco alienated both the left and the right. Most people were switching to beer alternatives anyways. This just posted it over the edge.

Delta's key demo is not the anti-cancel culture cancel culture low IQ crowd. Delta has put out BLM pins and sponsored pride parades and they are still a very strong and profitable brand. The dummies on Twitter would love to have fake influence but it'll be old news in a few weeks

I found it too. The document does say to capitalize Black but not brown or white. The style note does not have that reference, however. Either the “X” poster faked it or Delta changed it. It looks pretty legitimate based on the style note I found as in same type face, graphics etc. would be pretty easy to fake if you had the original document.

It also says why. Essentially, "Black" is a proper noun, "brown" and "white" aren't.

They don't even sell it at the big stores around where I live anymore.

Bud Light has not recovered. The stock price might have but sales are still way down. It is still mocked as the trans beer at bars. Hardly anyone orders it anymore. Walk down Broadway street in Nashville. You won’t see anyone drinking it.

I don’t have a problem with capitalizing or not capitalizing but I don’t see in the document a reference to it being a proper noun but rather a formal ethnicity and thus the capitalization.

KR did an interview recently and explained why he's back with BL. He said he disagreed with their stance. But he's willing to forgive and forget. And maybe they gave him some serious $$$$ to maybe come back over :) IDK, I only watched part fo the interview, but it seems he was happy with how they figured out they made a mistake and were willing to correct it somewhat. Not all is as it appears.

Ok, if you're trolling for me I'll bite. Yeah, still not sporting the dome of obedience. I really like getting the stink eye from the ATL crowd though, so as long as I'm triggering them I'll continue sans hat. Going on 4 years now. It's liberating. You should try it. I doffed the horse blanket as well. NF all the way. We originate and fly to some locales where the horse blanket just doesn't cut it. And when I'm doing the walk around in the snow storm, yeah it works great! (I still do walkarounds for the FOs on the return leg. Relief gives me a strange look, but I must admit I like walking around the big jet, keeps me grounded plus they have all the trading cards so I give them a chance to interface with the D1 and HVC's when I've escaped outside).

From what someone posted regarding Black vs lowercase brown and white. I believe technically white people are referred to as Caucasian which would be capitalized. I believe African-American is no longer the preferred identifier.

In 1984 that's what they wanted to be referred to as "African-American". Why the change? See that's what gets me about this whole thing.

Why does it have to be? It offended me. That's all you or anyone else needs to know. And it doesn't matter anyway, because all my answer would do is give you ammo to virtue signal. The thing that DOES matter is that BL sales are still in the tank. Apparently a lot of other people were offended as well. If ImBev doesn't care, that's fine as well, (but I'll bet they do). And just like Nike, I will never spend another dime on either product and that's all I need to justify. I couldn't care less what kind of beer you drink or what shoes you wear. You do you.
