Default Aircraft Scale Model Source

I'm trying to build out my fleet for airliners flown. I'm committed to 1:200 scale, and the snap together plastic models are okay, but die-cast is better. I like carved wood too, but that trends toward the larger scales. I do have a wood 767 already that's 1:200. Wondering if anybody has a buy-direct recommendation for aquiring these things from where they originate? I used to see scale models all around Asia, in street markets and small hobby shops/toy stores. I feel like the Phillipienes is a major source. Most of what I see in the U.S., on eBay etc. is clearly imported from the East and hugely marked up. Much of what I seek is trending over $200. Not really an option for the size of fleet I need to build. I know, I know, proft sharing is but 5 days away. That won't change me from being a frugal pilot! I'm looking for the best deal.

I got my 1:100 custom wood 717 from these guys. I think they are out of the Philippians, or maybe Bahrain. I don't remember. Had good service but they are pricey. The models are custom made.

Seems the Philippines needs to start an advertising campaign to help Americans spell their name. I only remeber because "Philip pines" over the women there.....

For those prices I'd expect it to actually fly.

I've been collecting aircraft as well, but have stayed on the 1:200 diecast side. I'm partial to GeminiJets because they are fairly "inexpensive" and hold their value really well, but there are a few new manufacturers out there that are also really good. I've been getting my stuff mostly from these guys:

Some of the other dealers I've used in no particular order:

Happy hunting...

Bader is awesome. He usually makes a trip to Chicago (he's from Bahrain) once a year and takes orders down in Flight Ops (UA). I've talked to him a few times and he'll do anything custom for you. Paint job, registration, aircraft type, you name it. He's not cheap, but he does great work and doesn't charge extra for the customizations.

I get my models at the AP market in Shanghai. Got a Seriously really nice Delta A350 model for 30 bucks. 1:144 scale. They will basically make anything you want.

for me personally 1:144 scale is the way to go. An A350 at 1:100 scale has a 25 inch wingspan. Which is pretty big for display purposes. On the other hand 1:200 scale for the smaller aircraft really looks small. It is hard to see properly.
