Default 401K Advisors

All, I’ve reached the point where I feel like I’m missing out trying to just let it stew and sit. I’m in search of an advisor/manager who’ll get in there and do better than I am. Who do you all use, what are their fees and such?

S&P Index fund charges me 0.05% but that's because i use $STRV instead of the company option which is 0.01%. There is oodles of research out there showing that very few funds or managers beat the S&P consistently.

If you’re willing to do a little bit of reading, check this guy’s blog out. The “start here” page will get you 80% to where you need to go with streamlining your financial life.

He writes about doctors, but most of their considerations are the same faced by other “high income professionals” like us.

No connection to this guy and have never given him a penny. Just all around good advice:

S&P is great, but it isn't diverse enough. You'll want international exposure too in case the US stagnates for a decade (which has happened before). Also you'll want exposure to small, and value companies because they tend to have higher rates of return than the S&P but of course are also more volatile.

You just funnel funds in the 401k to a brokerage and then buy $STRV? Is STRV one of the funds you can auto invest in? The list of funds you can buy on automation seems to be limited.

I handle it myself, but if I wanted to hire someone, this firm is generally honest and above board:
https://aboundwealth.com/work-with-us/
Fee-only, no commission off funds/sales.

What is Abound Wealth’s fee structure?
Abound Wealth charges a percentage of assets under management (AUM) fee for advisory services.

Assets under management isn't what most would consider fee only

VOO SP500 ie large cap
VTAX Russel 2000 small cap
VXUS Total Market International

Pick your allocation and spend the rest of your time enjoying life.

If you are doing this inside the Delta plan, there are equivalent low fee funds.

Income producing real estate is better, but takes more time vetting sponsors, acquiring NNN assets and/or managing property..
