Less than two weeks after Patrick Burns got a "promotion" to be the SVP of operations at minor Part 135 carrier, the uniform rollout "paused, " and flight ops suddenly (and belatedly) realized the product sucks. Coincidence? I doubt it.

The entire premise off new uniforms was to make them more "diverse" and "inclusive."

Any bets on whether the single-breasted jacket goes away? And if so, how are the going to walk back their "diversity" and "inclusive" messaging, which they milked for all it was worth?

Did the company buy yours or were you hired before they started giving them to new hires? The ones we got were not good. Fabric just as cheap, buttons would pop out after a couple months (no, I didn't gain weight) and they were uncomfortable.

It’s a black coat and pair of pants for the love of God.
the uniform redesign was so they better fit the female pilots

After wearing them, the belt cause the latches to come undone. They have a button also that I now have to button to make sure they don’t fall down. Jacket gets wrinkled really easy and feels short on me. I ordered the regular because she told me too. If I tie the tie perfectly, I can get it the right length with the thin part the exact same length as the tie.

Unfortunately, I tossed all my old stuff because I figured I would never need it again and it was taking space in my closet.

I’ve patiently been waiting for new pants to go on order so I can order new ones along with a new tie. Reporting to captain school in March so I figure new jacket coming anyhow.

What a cluster. I’m ****ed because I got measured, but the people actually doing the measuring obviously didn’t know how to measure. The whole process is and has been a joke.

I’m not even sure why we needed new uniforms. New ones are basically same as old ones anyway except for some small differences that most people would never notice.
Wow, what a waist of thyme!

Lol, well they accomplished something. Redesigned them so they didn't fit anyone. Job well done! I have a crazy idea that I know is really out there and cutting edge...why not just make an updated female version of the uniform pieces?

Purely anecdotal, but the 2 women getting fitted for blazers while I did my fitting were very audibly displeased with the coats they tried. One even loudly said "what the f@ck is this?!".

Hell, maybe it was indecision that spared me? I’m really not sure if it was indecision or procrastination that benefited me.

I will figure it out tomorrow - maybe. 🤔

This 100%! The blazers look almost identical and no passengers will know or care. The easiest way to tell the new double-breasted from the old is usually the old fits the pilot and the new blazer is billowy and ill fitting. But let's 'look sharp and take pride in our appearance' (which I know might illicit and eye roll from some but I actually take seriously and try to do).

It's basically visible at 10 yards to a CP/ACP or Uniform Sherrif but passengers don't notice.

Back in the jurassic era (2018) they were making new hires buy HPI uniforms. Including EDV guys who had Abbotts or Crew Outfitters change the buttons, or ex Navy guys like me that had Abbotts convert an SDB jacket.

They actually came in, for my NH class, the afternoon before we went to the ALPA dinner, and basically told us to show proof we have purchased HPI or face termination.

Just like the current boondoggle, HPI had NOTHING that fit me properly. Jacket "fit" but the arm holes were so low compared to the shoulders, that if I raised my arms straight to the side, the jacket would come up to my ears. Pants? I took at the time 40/36s. But neeed large legs. I left HPI with 52/34s and was told to get them tailored.

We told the ALPA crew that night at the hotel.

Next day, same indoc person came in very sheepishly and told us HPI was the only "authorized supplier" and they wouldn't be responsible if we were hit later on for uniform violations, but would not terminate us.

I got jacket checked once by an LCA once I was off probation. Because I took it off upon arrival at plane, and he saw the tag. I was removed from the flight.

They are out there.

Hopefully they left with the VEOP crowd.
