Where do you see the actual? Is it somewhere on the Wide and/or Reasons report?

CR is a train wreck. I have no idea why some people still give BS a pass. That guy has lit more money on fire than any fuel hedger ever did.
Unfortunately I think BS has to shut up and color then hold the bag when it comes apart.

When I took this job, I was assured there would be no math.

People keep saying this, but unless he has severe Stockholm syndrome, then why would he still be here if he’s half-decent at his job?

I can’t imagine he’s getting paid more than a 2nd year FO; anyone worth their salt wouldn’t put up with the crap for this long for that pay. He loves spreadsheets and data analytics, he could theoretically get a number-crunching job that pays 50% more if he’s truly good at what he’s doing.

The only explanation is that he’s good enough to keep his job, but not so good that he’s got much mobility in- or out- of the company.

This guy has used leap year as an excuse for staffing issues and by the looks of it, the RLLs for April were copy and pastes from last April. Oh and don’t get me started about the crap he posted during and after COVID trying to explain away the staffing shortfalls.

He has been passed over for promotion many times by people that haven’t been on property as long. I think that’s pretty telling.

None of this management team is as good as they think they are, IMHO. The mistakes (and arrogance) have cost us plenty over the years. Thankfully, we’re just not as bad as the competition, and some serendipity with market circumstances has allowed for truly unprecedented performance in spite of ourselves.

Maybe that’s true everywhere, I don’t honestly know. I’ve been impressed by a lot of leaders and even middle managers over my civilian and military years…but none have been here at Delta.

FWIW, I’m surely not as good a pilot as I think I am either.

He (BS) is a Packer fan in ATL and an average "yankee," satisfied with not climbing the ladder. He is given orders from on high and does his best. The fact that he owns the actions and tries to explain them somehow makes him a convienent scape goat. He does fine and his real life doesn't bleed widgets. Leaving is an option but comfort keeps him in the position as does many long time Deltoids like CS.

I really think someone forgot to carry the 1 on the extra x-day this month, which was mostly good for us lol. Just another reminder to not really trust anything they say and plan accordingly, it is just a projection.
I never paid attention to these numbers except while bidding and always assumed they were basically set in stone. I wonder how often this happens?
