I had a no-heat issue in BOS maybe two months ago. MX guy fixed it within 10 minutes of my call…filter on the bottom of HVAC unit under the window was clogged, causing a thermal fault. Easy fix in the future (granted we should not have to do hotel room maintenance, but at 12:30am IDGAS and just want sleep ya know? lol)
Long ago in the dark ages, I was offered a “suite” upgrade at a certain Boston hotel on a very short overnight. This, on a very popular holiday night.
Two hours after lights out, I woke up freezing (could literally see my breath). The heater was not working. I was told no more rooms were available and maintenance was gone for the holiday. Would I like more blankets?
They knew exactly what they were doing. I’m sure they’d given my more modest DAL negotiated room to someone else and offered the “upgrade” to a chump…me.
