B&R is due any day now to have their new “J hook” smart strap. Should have been in stock in June, but there were shipping delays. Keeping checking their web site for when it is in stock.

I'm seeing more Briggs bags around the crew rooms these days. Means I actually have to pay attention to what bag I grab now.

I love the B&R but the J hook design is a miss.
I do the same with the J hook from an old LW bag threaded onto the B&R strap. Since it falls off so easily, I remove the strap and stow it in the Brightline flight kit whenever they’re not hooked together (loading into vehicles, etc)

I’m curious if the B&R J hook strap will solve the falling-off problem?

I have one of the old versions of the B&R J hooks, and I have to take it off and stuff it in my bag for van rides and deadheads/commutes. It also lacks in its ability to adjust to shorter lengths. Hopefully the new one will fix this problem.

Anyone use a 4 wheel spinner? If so how have the wheels held up to the abuse we give?

Your other option is to keep using that bag and get a hard time every single time you go through security while hoping they actually let you through with your bag
Clearly your solution doesn't work for everyone. I keep a 26 for occasional 6 day international trips, never had a problem with it, don't care if it "screams aircrew", and I don't care if some rogue TSA knob doesn't like it, perfect for hauling vino home from Paris and Rome.

Am I the only captain that buys drinks for the whole crew? $200 is usually about right when buying each crew member 2 drinks, a few appetizers, and tip.

Why do you need a bigger bag for a 6 day international trip? It's only 3 layovers and 4 legs..less than a domestic 5 day. I can work 7 days in a row and easily fit everything I need in a 22" bag.

including the FAs? man, in this day and age that's a disaster waiting to happen. One wrong joke or accidental touch in the presence of a readily offended FA and that could get you a ticket to an HR investigation or on the disciplinary track, stat. Even if you are eventually cleared, it's a lot of stress...and make no mistake, at Delta when it comes to that kind of allegation, you're guilty until proven innocent. Mix alcohol into the whole thing and there's a lot of downside there.
