ahhh ok yeah I’m ER so that makes sense. Can’t use a PD to break up a 4 day stretch but can use a PB day. Same goes for IVD.
I didn’t know you could use PD for individual LC days in the NB categories.
Just PSA I used IVDs this last two months as a junior ER A to immense advantage so anyone not sure about how they work I’d encourage them to look into it. They effectively can give a lot of time off in the summer to anyone no matter how junior (assuming 25% reserve coverage and non 4th of July footprint) , assuming you have vacation left over in SEP-DEC, which anyone junior should be able to get.

Which I will spend driving from Crawfordsville, Indiana, home to Jersey to CLT to DFW to LAS and back home to Jersey driving my toy hauler bringing two European racers who qualified for the 3 races of the SuperMotocross finals to the three rounds.
It was, I kid you not, my wife's idea.
If any APC people are going to the SMX races, get a pit pass and stop by. I'll have beer in the fridge. Might even be good beer. (I can't drink during race day)

But you didn't need the PB day to kill the block right? Wouldn't a vanilla PD have killed the block the same way? And the PB used for something more lucrative?
My point being that PB doesn't have any more "power" to drop a day than a PD does. Unless PB is converted to SUPP and used as IVD to drop a day.

*Coverage must be positive unless you want to use an APD, IVD etc.
*It has to be a "banked" PB day. PB days earned earlier in the month are automatically placed on your next day on reserve, so you need the GS that earns PB day to be at a time in the month when you will not have enough on call days to absorb all your PB days. PB days that are not automatically place on your line go into your bank and are used at your discretion.
Some Pilots will try to "roll thunder" earning PB days all throughout the month starting at the beginning and others will strategically shoot for banked PB days. Which strategy you choose to pursue will determine how you bid because both of these bids would look very, very different.

This is incorrect and has been corrected above, but the easy way to remember it is like this - The true "Superpower" of a PB day, in your bank, for Reserve Pilots is that it can "split" reserve coverage blocks. Just to be clear there are some other hoops to jump through to make this happen:
*Coverage must be positive unless you want to use an APD, IVD etc.

I mean while it’s true that WB pilots can use PB days to break up otherwise unbreakable blocks, they also have the opportunity to save and cash in PBs for much, much higher pay than NB pilots.

The problem I'm having is finding someone with enough hours on their schedule to pick up a 20 hr + trip. Looking at the wide report, no one senior to me has the specific calendar days off and/or the pick-up available to take my trip.
Only option I can come up with is to drop it and try to pick it back up myself.
Any suggestions out there?
