Every caring father’s nightmare. 1/3 of all traffic accidents and somewhere north of 13k motor vehicle fatalities are now determined alcohol related each year. Clogs the courts, fills jail bunks and generates $123b in financial losses. Nearly funny as slipping on human remains.

Did you know 2/3 of all traffic accidents and somewhat north of 26k motor vehicle fatalities are cause by sober people. Why don’t we ban sober driving. That is where the real problem lies.

Self driving motor vehicles, already happening. Other forms of transit to follow. Walking with a drink in your hand, still permitted. For now.

Reminds me of a comedian from another generation. Gallagher, maybe? He said something like, "To hell with MADD" (Mother's Against Drunk Driving). He wanted to join DAMM (Drunks Against Mad Mothers).

Most don’t understand that alcohol is the single most destructive drug in the United States both in lives and cost.

Big number. Add obesity, smoking and careless falls, the migrant crisis doesn’t seem so unmanageable after all.

Pro tip; when they finally roll by with the drink cart, remember where mini’s are concerned, good things come in 3’s. Over & out double breasted barnstormers.

In a statement to the Daily Beast, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jenny Karlsson confirmed that the pilot “is still a suspect.”

“A Delta Air Lines pilot was arrested on July 22, on probable cause suspected of drunken driving at Arlanda Airport. After interviewing the suspect and other people who made observations in connection with the incident, the arrest was lifted on July 23 at 00:58 by a duty prosecutor,” she explained.

“However, the pilot is still a suspect and an investigation is ongoing. No other information can be provided at this time due to the confidentiality of the investigation in the case.”
Appears this case isn’t over and done yet.

So the pilot was breathalyzered, arrested and then, after interviews were done with witnesses, unarrested. That sounds like what you say until the paperwork is complete.

Released as the suspect was a foreign national according to the article.
Released doesn’t equal off the hook.

Also, while airlines have a limit of .02 for removal from safety sensitive function, US law “allows” up to “0.04 or greater in a blood or breath specimen” before it is a violation of FAR 91.17.

Swedish law is 0.02 or higher may get minimum 6 months jail time.
